An exercise in process, toolsets, and image production, this project focused on the manipulation of recognizable icons into unrecognizable forms. Working in Grasshopper, a model of Claes Oldenburg’s “Geomteric Mouse” served as a base for the projection of Mickey Mouse himself. The model was then dropped in simulation, traveling through space, time, and projection, while data of the drop was recorded. The path of travel and the model’s final resting place were superimposed on a wireframe of the original geometry to created images. A soft and hard model were constructed to resemble the images.
